What I Like About Fashion Week AW 2013-2014

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be doing style posts showing everything I like so far at the fashion week shows. It would feature looks and elements I like with regards to attendees, style bloggers and celebrities from New York fashion week, London Fashion week, the ongoing Milan Fashion week and Paris hopefully.

Let's just say its my own mini 'Pin Interest' for fashion week, all pieces are totally covetable and If I could, I would definitely raid these peoples' closets or studio as the case may be.

Emporio Armani
This collection makes me want to wear a shift satin dress in a pastel colour and a cloche hat, Its 20's, retro and chic. I love that the shoes and purses are in matching hues.

Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti

Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera is one designer that consistently does fabulously tailored upper class look like no other, you almost can tell its her designs.
Alberta Ferretti

D&G

How grand is this look from D&G, they totally went all out with the opulence theme of the season, I also like the way he blends in elements of faith with  photos of saints on very richly ornamental fabric in his collection
Emporio Armani
 Yay! Dandy
D&G
I'm having a shoegasm...lol!
Ralph Lauren

Moschino

Maxmara

Ralph Lauren
Preppy to Parisian chic and everything in between, love the little beret.

Nicky Hilton

Rachel Zoe

Red Valentino

She adds dashes of bold bright colour to what would have just been a typical all black outfit, this makes the whole look just pop for me.
Coco Rocha

I love how this look  embodies both formal and informal components, It looks smart and business formal on top and pow!!! below is so party and sexy in a very elegant way.

Emilio Pucci
I'm a sucker for rich ornamental fabrics lately...no?
Emilio Pucci
Who doesn't want these thigh high suede boots?

Etro
This optical illusion dress  would make one look slimmer and draw the eyes to the mid riff.....that is if you had the mid riff to go bare belly in the first place, I like it all the same.
Gucci

Where did she get that blouse?

I hope my thighs would be rippling like hers when I'm done with insanity.

Just Cavalli

Just Cavalli

Matchy colours done right, she totally rocks it.

How cool that block heels are coming back?
Karolina Kurkova
Now, that's a very bold look, playsuit with stripes running from top to bottom and matched with white bag, purse and pumps yet it's all tied in nicely.

Very Valentine

Hello lovely people of the world, hope you are all having a mushy, romantic Valentine's day and spreading the message of love and happiness to those around you.

I think its refreshing that one day is set aside away from all the negative happenings around us to just think about love.  Even if on that day we don't get a gift, romantic dinner or whatever, its nice to know that for one day in a year the focus is on love and loving.

This week I decided to switch things up a bit with my workout and started doing Taebo, cool thing was, I did the 51mins of the advance taebo that used to kick my butt and didn't feel like I had exerted myself too much, how cool is that!

Overall I am beginning to look more like this......

But feeling more like this......

Fierceness right? Absolutely how I feel

Orangy

Hello lovely people of the world, how is February treating you? I'm a tad excited writing this post because Nigeria is whopping Mali as I write in the ongoing African cup of nations.....wop!!! ...wop!!!. Its looking like we are going through to the finals at the moment, hope lady luck continues to smile on us.

My insanity workout is going great! so far I have lost about 3kg and a lot of inches from all over! I'm really happy with the results. Its not very evident in this outfit but my clothes are already fitting quite loosely.

Outfit: Dress- Dillards || Shoes - Ninewest(old) || Jacket - Ralph Lauren || necklace - Nordstrom ||Purse - tjmaxx

I do not have  Mrs Obama's biceps yet....but hopefully very ...very soon, I have  made some small changes to my diet, My portions are smaller,  I eat mainly whole grains ( this is key for my weight loss because I have a certain love affair with bread and rice).

I  take loads of fruits and veggies, I have also cut out mayo completely  and use oil and vinegar for my salads and sandwiches  and finally I take loads of green tea for detox.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week ahead!

Insanity

Hi everyone, Happy new year!!!! Its my first post for the year and I'm not going to give any excuses, I am truly sorry for the lack of posts so far and would like to thank you all for coming around to the blog even though I fall short of by bloggers responsibility......yes you! thank you...thank you!

After all my body went through last year #childbirth and #Christmas over indulgence the later being the main culprit, I have resolved to start this year on a clean slate by going on one of my numerous crazy weight loss  missions. This time I'm doing the 'Insanity weight loss program'....... drum roll!. I have chosen Insanity simply because given the amount of weight I need to be rid of, only a crazy hardcore program like insanity would probably deliver.

What I am wearing : Tank Dress-Forever 21|| Arm candy- Kohls

As part of my journal to show my progress, these photos would be my 'Before' photos, and I'm seriously hoping there would be an 'After' very very soon fingers crossed, Mrs Obama watch the arms, you've got competition.
By the way I think she killed it with the Thom Brown Jacket and J.Crew gloves she wore for the inauguration, that was all I saw and heard through out the ceremony.

Part of my strategy for success is to let as many people that care to listen know that I'm on a mission to lose some weight so that they can remind me when I overindulge or just generally keep tabs on me.

So far that's working with my bbm friends, I have people checking in regularly to find out how the program is going, which in it self is motivating so I cannot afford to fall my hand.

I feel like this post is already too long and getting boring so I would stop right here with a promise to be more frequent with my post this year.

Wish me luck! the workout is not for the faint-hearted, **shivers**

Trending.

Hi everyone, hope you all doing well? Today  I'm going to be talking about the fashion trends that I'm loving at the moment. Some of them are actually a spill over from last season, which gives an indication of how much people are loving these trends.

Hats
Hats have made a come back this season and they come in all shapes and sizes. I personally favour the Fedora especially in the colour red. I also love the Cloche for its feminine elegance.

Baroque
Baroque clothing and accessories are a huge trend this season, I love the drama that this highly ornate style brings to an outfit. This trend is full-on luxury and dispel any indication of the prevalent economic downturn. Some elements of this trend include rich embroidery, rich fabrics like velvet and silk brocade, ornate patterns on fabric, gold embellishments and threads, jeweled handbags or headbands and printed silk dresses and scarves.

Tartan/Plaid
This traditionally Scottish pattern makes its way into this seasons fashion but unlike the red and brown heavy fabric checks of the Scott  this season's tartan comes in a foray of colours and fabrics. I have been seeing a lot of plaid printed sheers and see through tartan and can't wait to get my hands on one of these, a plaid penciled skirt is also on my wish list this season, wink...wink.

Ciara in plaids

Serena Williams

how cool is this sheer plaid?

Peplums
This trend still continues to grow strong this season, the peplum this season have moved beyond the skirts, the peplums are attached to dresses, jackets and even suits, sweet!

Coloured Denim
Coloured denim trend still makes a come back this season but with mostly colours in earth tones, purple and reds.

Textured Sleeves
The key thing about this trend is the sleeves of the outfit is of a different and heavier material, i'm still trying to wrap my head around this, the trend is also called gorrilla arms. :)

All things studded and Spiky
This trend channels your inner rock chick, this look from last season seem to be going no where, very edgy yet chic.

Pointy toe Pump
The pointy toe pump  is one on-trend shoe of the season you want to rock, this season style is slender, elegant and not too high or chunky. Some come with a variation where the pointy part of the shoe is in shiny material. The trick here is to keep the shape clean, simple and elegant.

Headscarves
This trend has given way to the turban which was quite popular last season, with this trend stick to any variation that works for you, really.

The hardcase handbag
These luggage style handbag seem to be the new 'it' bag for this season. these bags come in a variety of shapes and sizes, the vintage ones are to die for.

Whites
The colour white is a classic for me, i love the fresh, cleanliness of the colour white. This season, the white is a variation of shades within this colour family, from creamy to rich bright whites. I'm loving pairing whites with gold in keeping up with the affluent theme of the season.

Reds
The colour red is also another key colour for the season, as with whites, the reds come in a variety of shades, from fruity tangerine to deep rich burgundy  Whatever shade you choose you are sure to make a bold statement because the colour red can be quite intense.

US elections

Its an election year for my US visitors, whatever you do today  make sure voting is top on your list. Personally I view the US elections like 'world election' because the results have such far reaching implications that is felt both locally and globally.

Have a great week ahead!

xoxo
