Trend Spotting: NY Fashion Week Day 3,4 & 5

Alexander Wang
Wangs collection had a tough girl's theme going, with drawstring rompers and shorts, some pieces with oversized pockets. I particularly love the tough biker girl pieces. Dominant colours were blues, blacks and a sprinkling of orange, and pink.

Carolina Herrera
Elegant chic dresses in nature inspired theme of greens, black and white sheath dresses. Again some 70’s inspired theme with the light chifony fabrics. A couple of ethnic pieces, Colours were nature greens, mustard yellow, chic white and red. I totally love this collection, one of my favorites so far and totally wearable fab …fab!

Monique Lhuillier
Elegant form fitting dresses,  some pieces had a mix of laces and leather, which is quite edgy. This collection also had a show of bold colours, colours here were electric blues, reds and yellows with a dose of graphic patterns.

DKNY

Bold bold... prints in screaming reds and blue,  very bright, colorful the overall look is typical DKNY.

Edun
This label has been been committed to producing luxury clothing using sustainably sourced and recycled materials and promoting trades in developing countries since its launch in 2005 . It supports factories in Africa where 37% of the women’s line is produced. The collection was a mash up of floral prints with tradition African prints, this fusion was so well done that it down plays the tribal look a bit and gives the collection a more contemporary feel, no wonder this brand has a huge celebrity following.

Diane Von Furstenberg
This was everything from simple chic dresses to loud floral jumpsuits. The theme was evolutionary and colour palette ranged from earth tones to blues and pinks. Overall fabulous and totally wearable.

Victoria Beckham
Sexy form fitting dresses conveyed in rich details and absolute sophistication which just conveys a sense of subtle luxury. Very wearable straight from the runway, again a good dose of colours and geometry.

Its looking like we are going to be seeing a lot of Orange, yellows, blues and pinks, Yay!!!  to colours , Prints and Geometry.
