Trend Spotting: NY Fashion Week Recap

Calvin Klein
Light weight fabric in fab loose fitting dresses,  a lot of neutrals, colours were mainly pale palettes of blush orange, black and white. Some 70’s inspired pieces with the flared pants. Spotted a couple of flared cropped pants and nicely structured jackets. Some of the dresses had the chemise inspired  look of the 20’s which has been quite popular lately.

Micheal Kors
This collection went from  military inspired theme with a lot of pieces featuring Khaki to brightly coloured sarongs in bold colours to pieces with loads of prints. Some pieces had one of this seasons hottest look animal prints. Colour palettes were  browns, tans and green and a couple of pieces featured orange and
red which have seen quite frequently lately.

Proenza Schouler
This collection showed a lot of detailing and tailored look. Loads of prints, some geometric looks and  colour- blocked pieces, particularly love the colour blocked print pieces very edgy, and the gorgeous colour blocked wedges worn by the models. Loads of bright colours, yellows, orange , blues and greens. Overall fantastic collection.

Ellie Tahari
Glamorous pieces in palettes that looked minimalist compared to what we have seen so far. Love the sophistication of the collection a lots of glitzy pieces in gold, loads of light weight fabric.

As the New York fashion week came to an end we can comfortably say hello!!! To Prints, Graphics, Bold colors my personal favourite is Orange, and a subtle approach to colour blocking.

Fingers crossed lets see what London and Paris weeks will foretell.
